St Peters
When this character cottage with an open plan extension went to market, our clever clients snapped it up seeing the potential in the open plan area with soaring ceilings, and natural light flooding in. However, they couldn't overlook the glossy back tiled floor and island bench, dark carpet and stark blinds covering aluminium folding window walls. We recreated the open plan area along with bathrooms and laundry by gutting them and starting afresh. With a limited budget in mind we retained the internals of the back wall of cabinetry and the aluminium folding walls. A herringbone floor was installed to the open plan and hallway areas to achieve a cohesiveness throughout, while using a fresh timeless palette created a calm, inviting feel. The new island bench and cabinetry doors with wood handles were installed to the kitchen zone with a feature pendant light dressing the space. Custom joinery to the lounge provides extra storage and display shelves and acts as subtle zoning. Wall to wall floaty sheers dress and soften the aluminium window walls allowing light to flood in and furniture in earthy toned fabrics complements the backdrop of green leaves showing through. This cottage has a new lease on life and now feels like 'home' for our lovely clients.
